Dance Elan is the nonprofit professional dance company associated with V Dance Academy.

Mission Statement

Dance Elan is a performance company that brings art and culture to the community through performances and educational outreach programs. Dance Elan Educates and Enables self-expression in a Loving environment, and provides an Appreciation for and Nurtures interest for the Arts.

Our mission is to create a lifelong passion for dance by connecting students with professionals who exemplify excellence.

Through education, mentorship, and performance, we cultivate a deep respect for the arts, and life skills such as confidence, resilience, and collaboration.

We aim to inspire and enrich our community through the power of dance and empower students to succeed in the classroom, on the stage and beyond.

Problem Statement

The local dance scene relies heavily on volunteers, students or underpaid artists. Productions use the same artists repeatedly, limiting the scope and content of productions. National touring dance productions rarely come to the area, and enthusiasts must travel to go and see quality productions.

Solution

Dance Elan can bring working dance and arts professionals to the area, in order to mentor, collaborate, and perform with local dancers. This allows for exposure and insight into the life of a working professional artist, as well as a demonstration of the level of effort and work needed to achieve this. This in turn elevates the level of performances provided by local students and other artists, and creates the opportunity to see different dancers each performance run.
